Win a beautiful, recycled cotton three-tier chandelier by Heather Orr

Constructed textiles designer Heather Orr creates centrepiece lighting and interior products that turn heads. Bold, unique and with a focus on sustainability, one lucky Reclaim reader can win one of Heather’s designs – a three-tier chandelier in eucalyptus-green recycled cotton, worth £320. This beautiful shade is made entirely by hand from soft cotton rope, intricately knotted around a rose-gold-coloured frame with fringed finishing, with all materials recycled and reclaimed where possible.

‘We aim to be as sustainable as possible,’ says Heather. ‘There are so many materials and products already in existence that it makes sense to repurpose them rather than using new. The recycled cotton used in this chandelier is produced without the use of new dyes – the shredded recycled fibres are mixed to achieve the colour.’

Heather Orr’s collection includes chandeliers, cushions, macramé lanterns, plant hangers, crochet plant pots, cat beds, wreaths and a reclaimed collection of lampshades where discarded vintage shades are given a new lease of life with paper raffia yarn. She also offers a series of workshops and masterclasses as online tutorials, with materials kits delivered to your door so you can learn a new skill from the comfort of your own home.

‘This shade would work well in a living room or bedroom,’ says Heather. ‘It’s very soft and tactile and casts beautiful soft shadows. It would look good in a neutral room as the main feature, or with a number of warm colour schemes. I love it against warm green walls surrounded by plants. You can’t have too much green – it’s good for the soul!’
